No. Biological and absorbable mesh have a high recurrence rates if the hernia is not otherwise properly repaired. It has some utility in dealing with hernias in a contaminated field where the risk of infection is high. I handle these types of hernias with a non-mesh repair and delayed wound closure.
A biological mesh is still just a patch and is foreign to your body. Your immune system recognizes it as foreign and rejects it causing chronic pain
Another big problem with biological patches is that they are not durable. Over time they desintergrate and the hernia comes back.
